I Made a Song based on Texas Hold’em 2

Music Generation Gacha

I wrote about how, for some reason, I wrote lyrics about Texas Hold’em and used Suno AI to create a song.

I was impressed by Suno AI, and felt like I had acquired an interesting toy, so I ended up playing with it every day. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to come up with any new lyrics since then, and I haven’t been able to produce any songs that I think are cool. I think that you need good lyrics after all, and that whether or not a good song is produced depends to a large extent on luck. It is possible to generate different songs from the same lyrics, but those lyrics have an image of that melody, so I don’t feel like making a different song out of them.

If I had the skills to arrange music, I could just fix the parts I don’t like, but since I don’t have that ability, I end up just spinning the music generation gacha in the hope of coming up with a good song. The last song I created, “All-in,” may have been SSR. I feel like it’s going to be difficult to make a new song unless I can come up with new lyrics. So now I feel like I want to play around with “All-in” a bit more, maybe create a female vocal version and some instrumentals.

Cover Function

Suno AI has a Cover function that creates a similar song from the generated song, and I wanted to use this to create a female vocal version and instrumentals. I decided to start with the instruments, so I used the Cover function to replace “male vocal” with “piano” in the prompt and set the lyrics for “Instruments” to be blank, then generated the song. The results were not what I expected, with vocals remaining the same and guitars being replaced with pianos. It may be that the vocals are not recognized as a sound that needs to be muted.

Suno AI’s prompts are basically a list of keywords, but it also seems possible to give instructions in text (although it appears to be in beta). So I wrote in the text, “Keep the instrumental performance as it is and replace the vocal melody with piano.” I tried it several times, but to be honest, I couldn’t generate it well. Basically, it’s a function to arrange the original song and make a cover song (a different song), not a function to replace part of the track. It may be that you can at least copy the instruments by ear and input them in the DAW.

Finished Song

I tried to generate songs in this way several times, but none of them turned out very well. Among the songs generated by writing “keep the instrumental performance as it is and replace the vocal melody with piano,” some of the songs that came out turned out to be piano solos. I was tempted to ask, “Did you just replace everything with piano?”, but it sounded the best out of the generated sounds, so I decided to use it for this song. It’s a sad-feeling melody, but I think it can also be enjoyed as a different song in its own right. I’ve attached the link below. I named it “Casino is closed…” because it’s the kind of melody that would be played when a store is closing.

I thought I’d try to generate some songs based on Texas Hold’em like this, so I made the titles numbered. It’s a different color from the other posts, but it will have a blog-like feel.
