Recreational Player
When we think of poker players, we tend to think of professional gamblers (people who play to make money) or people with gambling addictions, but it is likely that there are also many people who play poker as a normal form of recreation and who have the sense that “there’s no way you can make money from gambling.” People who play poker for recreational purposes, without the aim of making a profit from it, are called recreational players. This time, I have written lyrics that evoke such recreational players.
The content is about a businessman player who says, “I’m just unlucky,” but plays aggressively. Although he aspires to be a professional poker player, he has a self-awareness that says, “I’m not cut out to be a gambler,” and “Oh no, I have to go back to work tomorrow.” The lyrics end with the feeling that the song will end with the player going all in on a chance at a royal straight flush.
Lyrics
As usual, I wrote the lyrics in Japanese and had ChatGPT translate them into English. The original lyrics were too long, so I had them shortened appropriately, but the content is thought to be almost the same as the lyrics I wrote.
🎵 End of the Holiday🎵
[Verse 1]
“You’re boring—like you’ve got no soul”
She said, like one before
[Verse 2]
I keep folding, luck runs thin
Maybe work made patience my skin
[Pre-Chorus 1]
She bets. I’ve got pocket fives
Just like me—they barely survive
Board shows Ace, King, Five
I hold my breath and hide
[Chorus 1]
“All-in,” she laughs, “You should fold”
I call—watch her smile unfold
Even I take risks sometimes
[Verse 3]
“Just slipped,” she says, “Next time I win”
She thought I was easy to reel in
[Pre-Chorus 2]
Some CEO throws a bet my way
I hold 7-6—could be my day
Board is eight, five, four
Maybe luck knocks at my door
[Chorus 2]
“All-in,” he grins, full of pride
I call—he’s stunned inside
Aces don’t always ride
[Pre-Chorus 3]
Dealt Q and Ten, suited tight
Board reads Ace, Jack, Jack—might be right
A royal chance in sight
[Bridge]
I dream of leaving ties behind
Flying free with poker’s grind
But I know that’s not my road
Work returns as dawn unfolds
Still, tonight, I’ll play bold
[Final Chorus]
I go “All-in” on dreams so high
She says, “I win,” with a steady eye
Her full house won’t decide my fate
I choose my path—it’s never too late
Flip the card—lose or win
I’ll rise again when work begins
Finished Song
As always, I asked them what style of music would suit ChatGPT. They suggested a typical pop song with a slightly dark feel, which is pretty much what I was expecting. So, among the songs generated by entering appropriate musical styles and instruments into Suno AI’s Style Description, the ones that I thought were pretty good are as follows.

Additionally, among the candidates ChatGPT listed as an image for an artist was Spitz (one of famous pop bands in Japan), despite the lyrics being in English. It seemed interesting, so I also created a song with a Spitz-like musical style. The lyrics are in English, so the song as a whole probably won’t sound Spitz-like, but I think the instrumental melody and acoustic guitar feel are quite similar, so I’ll post this too. Because the tempo is fast, the melody sounds like Verse 3 is included in Chorus 1 and Pre-Chorus 3 is included in Chorus 2, which makes the divisions between the lyrics and the music seem strange, but I decided not to worry about it.

Appendix
For this week’s gacha results, I generated an instrumental song using Suno AI without specifying any source music. I created a pop song with a musical style that sounds like a game background music. Of the results, I’d like to mention one song that I like. I feel like it could be used as background music for a game’s settings screen or menu screen.
