The Content of Lyrics
Up until now, I’ve been generating songs by applying different arrangements to previously written lyrics. This time, however, I wrote new lyrics, so I’ll introduce the content. Originally, I was writing lyrics from June to August with the goal of creating BGM for a game I am developing. The latter part felt like I was forcing myself to spit out lyrics, so I hadn’t come up with any new ones for a while. This time, though, I wrote them in about 30 minutes—it was over in a flash.
The content satirizes society using social games as its theme. Social games are often called games made for fools (though I personally play a few social games daily…). The lyrics point out that, truthfully, the structures of schools and companies resemble social games too. The games working adults play are actually the same as social games, right? (Like “Go to work every day to get your rewards”). The lyrics basically say, “Let’s end this game they made for fools.”
The lyrics include themes like playing a game where the real rules are hidden and never revealed, or deciding your own rules, acting like a god. This relates to a game currently in development, and the lyrics could be seen as an image song for that game. The lyrics came together quickly, perhaps because they directly translated the game’s worldview and the message embedded within it.
As usual, I had ChatGPT translate the lyrics into English. The song’s vibe is pop rock, and ChatGPT thought something like ONE OK ROCK or Imagine Dragons would be a good fit. Personally, I kind a thought it had an ellegarden feel, but maybe that’s outdated… Well, I guess they’re in the same vein, so I won’t worry about it.
The Lyrics
🎵 The Rule of the Game
[Verse 1]
Log in every day — get your prize, don’t delay,
But somehow it feels like a joke they play.
Smiles on the screen, but the joke’s on me,
Am I free, or just on their leash?
[Verse 2]
School and work — same old chains,
Follow rules, repeat the pain.
They call it “growth,” but I can’t agree,
That’s not the kind of truth I see.
[Pre-Chorus]
They say hard work will never lie,
But this world’s built to crucify.
[Chorus]
Rulers write the rules to steal your days,
Draining your life in clever ways.
Let’s end this game they made for fools —
’Cause all that’s real
Is what you choose.
[Verse 3]
Logic’s nice, but chaos wins,
Luck and greed decide who grins.
A storm of chance, a twist of fate,
You learn too late, the rules are fake.
[Pre-Chorus]
Justice wins on TV shows,
But here, desire is all that grows.
[Chorus]
The real rules hide behind the fame,
We play a rigged, unwritten game.
Lies on the screen, they set the flame,
Fools chase fools — it’s all the same.
[Final Chorus / Bridge]
So write your own rule, shout your creed,
Be the god of what you need.
Right here, right now — begin again,
You’re not done yet, this ain’t the end.
No rules, no chains,
Let’s play — and win this game!
The Finished Song
The following are the songs generated that the author particularly liked.

The singer’s voice is completely different, but I feel like the song turned out to be similar to ellegarden’s style, just as I originally intended. As a side note, when ChatGPT translated it into English, it mentioned that it had created a rock-like phrase with a good tempo of 4×2, so I wrote instructions to sing the verse quickly and rhythmically. I thought it might work well as a rap song, but I didn’t try it because I liked the song that was generated before I could experiment with that idea. Personally, I think the fast-paced melody in the verse and the shout in the first pre-chorus sound really good.
It seems like it would be a good image song for the game. However, I feel it might be slightly unsuitable as background music within the game itself, so it would probably be best to feature it as an image song on the game’s website…
