This Week’s Suno AI Gacha 19

uncategorized

Overview

I’ve been generating nothing but instrumentals because I can’t come up with any lyrics, but I’m starting to get bored of it. Up until now, I’ve basically written my own lyrics (though I’ve had ChatGPT polish them up), but Suno AI does actually have a feature that generates lyrics. However, I’d heard that it tends to generate weird lyrics (especially in Japanese), so I hadn’t been using it—but this time, I decided to give it a try and generate both lyrics and a song.

The generated lyrics were weird right from the title (“Goodbye Stability”…) and the content itself was odd in places, so I was disappointed. However, I actually liked the melody of the generated song, so I fixed the strange parts of the lyrics, replaced the Japanese lyrics with English ones, and decided to use it as is. The song is about the resolve to say goodbye to work and the company and take on a new challenge.

In HR terminology, it seems people who deviate from the career path the company envisions are called “derailments,” so I decided to use that term for the title. It doesn’t really matter if someone gets fed up with their company and switches jobs, or starts a business with an acquaintance, but there are probably also people who “derail” by completely withdrawing from society—like those who quit their jobs and announce they’re going to become YouTubers or musicians.

As the lyrics suggest, once people reach this state, they often become determined that “I’m not turning back, I’m not looking back,” and lose any desire to reintegrate into society. It’s fine if you’re financially secure like someone aiming for FIRE, but when people without money derail in this way, they often end up committing crimes (though, of course, most people probably endure the unbearable and put up with the intolerable to reintegrate into society). Because of this, HR professionals seem to view derailment not just as an internal company issue, but as a phenomenon that leads to broader social problems.

You might think, “Whoa, that’s a pretty heavy title,” but I feel like the finished song actually has a genuinely good vibe to it. It’s a song about the resolve to venture into the unknown world while carrying loneliness and solitude, so I think people who like Mr. Children might really like it.

The Lyrics

🎵 Derailment

[Verse 1]
Same ticket gate, same familiar faces
Polished shoes, and well-rehearsed smiles
“Telling myself it’s good enough”
Swallowing truths I kept inside

A modest paycheck, in exchange
For all the dreams I’ve thrown away
Just getting older day by day
Doesn’t mean I’m safe this way

[Chorus]
Goodbye my career, I won’t turn back
I’m breaking out of this lukewarm trap
Counting down to the moment I leave
The world outside may freeze, but if my heart still beats
There’s only one road left for me

[Verse 2]
“Are you insane?” my coworkers laugh
“You’ll never make it,” the boss snaps back
I lived a life someone else designed
Just to protect their peace of mind

Following rules worn out with time
Staying on track, staying in line
But now I’m stepping off these rails
To see the world I’ve never found

[Chorus]
Goodbye my fellows, I won’t look back
Loosening ties, leaving my past
I’ll choose the pain over what’s “right”
But somehow now I can finally breathe
I’ll draw my path on a blank new map

[Bridge]
This company’s just a rigged-up game
Built for fools who play it safe
Forcing rules that serve their side
I’m done with living someone else’s life
It’s time to choose who I am inside

[Final Chorus]
Goodbye my company, thank you somehow
The cage that held me—I’m breaking it now
One step forward into the unknown
A story that starts when I say goodbye
Let’s go—new road, new life ahead

The Generated Song

Usually, the lyrics come first, and then a melody is chosen to fit, but this time, the melody came first, and the lyrics were added afterward. The resulting song is as follows:

Bonus

Since it’s a music video file, I figured people wouldn’t be watching the screen anyway, so I’ve just been uploading Suno AI video files as they are. But then I found a service that automatically creates music videos from songs, so I tried it out. From now on, I think I’ll create and upload music videos (even if they’re a bit of a shortcut) for the songs I create. Well, I probably won’t be able to make elaborate videos or sexy animated ones like the music videos with lots of views…
